Are You Ready to Own Your Knowledge ?

I HAVE A PROVEN PROCESS TO HELP YOU SORT THROUGH YOUR IDEAS AND PRIORITIZE THE BOOK THAT YOU SHOULD WRITE FIRST.

I help clients tease out their ideas, their audience, and their goals. I take a step back to look at the big picture and ask the hard questions. I push my clients to get clarity on what they want to say and which idea will have the biggest impact. I love seeing authors step into their knowledge and own it. And once they do, I guide them to finish their books, publish them, and get them into the world.

20-min. Discovery Call

FREE

If you're interested in working with me, set up a complimentary 20-minute consultation to talk about your book ideas and determine if we want to work together. If we do, we'll decide together on the best plan of action.

Mini Blueprint Session

$300 USD

The Mini Blueprint captures your book idea on just one page—a fabulous tool derived from Jennie Nash’s Blueprint for a Nonfiction Book, which I coached.

You’ll complete and return it before our session. I'll give you detailed feedback on your audience, your content, and your vision for the book, and then we'll discuss it all in a 50-minute call. You'll come away with a clear idea of the book you plan to write and be ready to move to month-to-month coaching or an intensive session.

Month-to-Month Coaching

$1,500 USD / MONTH

Writing a book is hard and every writer comes to book coaching at a different point in the process. When you sign up for month-to-month coaching, we first develop a plan for your specific needs, which could be one of the following:

  • You’ve got a book idea and don’t know how to go from idea to finished manuscript.

  • You’ve written a few chapters—or a whole book—and it’s not working (or an agent or publisher has given you that feedback).

  • You feel good about your book idea and want to develop a book proposal to pitch agents and publishers.

  • Most of all, you want to get your ideas out in the world to the people who need them.

Monthly fee includes time spent on the call, editing and preparing written materials, market research (at the book proposal stage), agent research (at the pitch stage), and other services that support progress on the book project.

You have two submission deadlines per month, and we have two one-hour calls to discuss your progress, answer questions, and talk about next steps. Together, we’ll establish specific dates to create a schedule with a regular cadence.

“As a book coach surrounded by a community of wonderful book coaches, I knew Barbara was the right person to reach out to when my work-in-progress stalled. Firstly, Barbara is fiercely intelligent and knowledgeable; it was clear from all my previous interactions with her that she understood not only writers and writing process, but also the kind of literature I wanted to write. Secondly, I knew Barbara would not only call me out where it was necessary, but explain to me in no uncertain terms where her concerns were coming from. And this is exactly what happened. In just one coaching session, she was able to identify several weak spots in my project that were holding me back, and offer actionable advice for solving the issues at hand. In the ensuing months, I found myself returning to the recording of our session repeatedly, always finding more insights in her layered advice. I couldn't imagine a better writing coach and partner than Barbara.”

 I also offer coaching intensives…

Time is one of the most frequently cited challenges of writing a book. You want to focus, maybe you block an afternoon or even a weekend, but staying focused by yourself goes awry—the noise, the distractions, the interruptions quickly consume the time you’d set aside. Coaching intensives give you the accountability and direction to make a focused time block effective. Intensives are a great way to kick off a project, work through a thorny issue, or—if you’re up for a week or more—revise a full manuscript. Together, we block the time to block out the noise, the obligations, the distractions, the interruptions, so you can focus on one thing—your book.

Breakthrough Session

Plan a Virtual Intensive

1 day: $2,500 USD

2 days: $4,000 USD

A 1- or 2-day virtual intensive works well for developing an outline, creating an audience analysis and marketing plan, or polishing a book proposal.

We have a 30-minute planning session to facilitate a productive, effective day together. You’ll leave the session with a sense of accomplishment and clear next steps.

Two-day sessions can be consecutive or up to a month apart.

In-Person VIP Intensive

starting at $10K USD

In-person intensives are personalized writing retreats. This structure offers focused time to complete a large piece of the writing process, such as writing a book proposal, outlining and drafting chapters for a new project, or revising a manuscript.

We have an initial 30-minute planning session to determine any necessary pre-work and define your desired outcomes. You receive high-touch, dedicated coaching and leave the week having made significant progress on your book.

We can meet for 5 to 7 days on my farm in southern Italy, in your hometown, or somewhere in between.
